Jess

Jess Reimer has both a writing style and a voice that will leave you wondering where she came from. Jess was born in Thompson, Manitoba, and spent most of her time growing up in southern Manitoba. She was surrounded by bluegrass, old time, gospel, country, folk and choral music throughout her childhood. Growing up in a Mennonite community, Jess was immersed in music by her family, church and school. Jess' father Doug, sang and played guitar to her throughout childhood, until she was a teenager when Jess and Doug began making music together for local audiences. She has sung and played in numerous Winnipeg based bands, however the Doug and Jess Band is where all of her song writing jewels come alive. Bridging the gap between religious and human vulnerability, Jess paints a picture so vivid; she makes an audience feel as though they've walked in her shoes.
